The exceptional natural advantages of Gaspé's port are internationally recognized. It is particularly close to European and American ports, and ships often lay over here as they make their way from the Atlantic to the Great Lakes. Easily accessible, it provides exceptional shelter. Gaspé’s harbour and its port at Sandy Beach are located inside a natural breakwater with an entrance canal at least 500 metres wide and a constant 20 metres deep. The port has a vast 4 kilometre by 1.5 kilometre expanse of deep water.

The airport can receive planes 7 days a week, and car rental and reservation services are available at all times. The runway has just been entirely rebuilt and lengthened to 1,350 metres.

The rail line connecting the Gaspé Peninsula to the Halifax-Vancouver line ends in downtown Gaspé.

Orléans Express, a major bus company, carries passengers and parcels, and provides messenger service to major urban centres and around the Gaspé coast via national highway 132.

A number of entrepreneurs and independent truckers ship bulk merchandise or other goods.
